Importance of Migration in Turkiye- EU Relations

Jean Monnet Chair IMPEUTUS is pleased to invite you to its first webinar with Prof. Ayselin Yıldız, Dr. Başak Yavcan and Laura Batalla. In this event, how the migration topic shapes the agenda on Türkiye- European Union relations will be discussed by our valuable guests.

Historical development of Türkiye-EU relations reveals that this relationship has been directly affected by changes in the international system and European integration. Last example of this was seen in 2015 with the transformation of the human tragedy in Syria into a refugee crisis for the EU. Türkiye-EU relations, which remained static until 2015, regained momentum with the escalation of refugee crises across the European borders. Our guests, Prof. Ayselin Yıldız, Dr. Başak Yavcan and Laura Batalla, will talk about how the ups and downs in relationship between Türkiye and European Union has been affected by the recent refugee crises that broke out after Arab Spring.

Zoom Meeting: Registration is compulsory. Link will be sent after registration.
